The Double Bubble Slot Machine from Realistic Games

Today I thought I’m going to talk to you about this other Double Bubble slot game which you may or may not be familiar with. To fair, when players are looking for Double Bubble I really thing they mean our beloved video slot game from Gamesys, however there’s another slot machine game with the same name, but oh boy, with a completely gaming experience.

The fruit machine I’m talking about was developed by a company called Realistic Games Ltd, perhaps you’ve hear of them because of their slot game ‘It Came From the Moon’ slot, which I believe is much more popular than their Double Bubble game.

One of the first things I have to mention about this game is the looks. It’s basically like playing at an old (very old!) fruit machine from a bricks-and-mortar casino or pub slot.

It’s a 5×3 reels layout with the choice to place wagers on up to 20 winlines. Winning combinations are built from left to right with a minimum of 3 matching symbols lined up on a payline; like pretty much any other slot game.

There is also a Free Spins bonus game which can awards 10 free spins, Scatter wins and a Bonus Game which is active during the Free Spins bonus game only.

What is like playing Double Bubble slots online?

IMHO this Double Bubble slot does not provide a great gaming experience. Unless we’re talking about a classic slot machine that has been very popular with players in B&M casinos like 50 Lions slot form Aristocrat or Cleopatra slot from WagerWorks, I personally don’t see why make an online slot that looks like a replica of an old slot machine.

That being said, I find the graphics, animations and sounds to be quite dull. The winnings and the gaming experience follows this trend too. I played Double Bubble slot for a while, betting on all 20 paylines at 10 credits per spin and the winnings were seldom and very low in size.

For the most part, it was the Wild symbol that made it possible to build a winning line in this game. Most winnings were either 5 or 10 credits at the most with a very few winnings going as high as 70 or 100 credits.

The Free Spins bonus game which is activated by getting three or more Scatter symbols on the reels never came for me. I don’t believe I eve got anywhere close to triggering the free spins, so I there is very little I can tell you about the potential for great wins during the bonus game.

The Double Bubble Bonus is another feature I cannot vouch for, as it is only available during the Free Spins game, you know, the one I never got to activate (snif, snif). It does spicy up the free spins bonus game which offers no multipliers for your winnings. Getting the Double Bubble bonus symbol anywhere on the centre reel will double your winnings up to the maximum jackpot prize of 10,000 x stake.

If you fancy taking this alternative Double Bubble slots for a spin, there’s a free to play version of Double Bubble at Ladbrokes or you can also play for real money wagers at Bet365. I may just give this game another try some time in the future, but it seems unlikely. Personally, I prefer the Double Bubble video slot game from Gamesys that we all know and love so much.
