Lucky Leprechaun slots review.
I’ll say right up front that I’m not a big fan of most ‘cartoon’ pokies. I think they tend to be a bit hokie, so I suppose that makes them hokie-pokies.
The Lucky Leprechaun slot game is a cartoon style slot, on the theme of (you’d never guess if I didn’t tell you) leprechauns and all things Irish developed by the popular software developer Microgaming.
The music sets the tone, with some not very authentic sounding music clashing with the sound effects of a win or a feature. It didn’t take me long before I had to choose the ‘mute all sounds’ box in the options (which can be found in the bottom right corner).
Lucky Leprechaun slot machine is a five reel, three line affair, with 20 win lines on offer, and betting available from the modest to the substantial, so something for every slot fan.
Lucky Leprechaun slot
Lucky Leprechaun payouts and symbols.
There’s the usual 10 through to Ace symbols, which deliver small wins in enough numbers to keep you playing, and the symbols that promise so much more are in the shape of a handful of Irish clichés; the eponymous leprechaun of course; a face you’d never tire of slapping in my jaded view, a fiddle, some pints of Guinness (other stouts are available) and a ‘humorous’ dancing pipe.
There’s the Lucky Leprechaun wild card, and the ever-popular pot of gold helpfully marked ‘bonus’. There’s also the shamrock Scatter symbol, of which more later.
In fairness to the Lucky Leprechaun slot, the bonus; which you’ll score if you land a shamrock on reel five, can be a biggie. You start off with five free spins, and of course you accumulate wins as you go. However, some of the ten through to ace symbols come with more little shamrocks attached, which are either multipliers or extra spins, so with luck and a following wind you can keep spinning and multiply your pot again and again.
I made it to 5 times the win, which is the maximum, and had some 20 or more free spins giving me a very good payout indeed.
Lucky Leprechaun’s Jackpot.
There’s another bonus on offer too: find three or more pots of gold and you’re on your way to the trail o’ fortune where the maximum payout is 1,000 times your stake.
The Lucky Leprechaun pokie machine isn’t the game for me. It’s just too…storybook Irish. Maybe it’s because I have some Irish in my family, but it grated on my nerves a bit.
That said, it’s not a bad game in terms of payouts large and small, so you might find it worth a spin or two.
